This is cool radio-style docudrama, even before they knew what to call it.

Subject: CORRECTION: 1952 TV Series
From my Internet research it appears that Gang Busters was a 1952 TV Series [not 1954-55] and that the episodes on the Internet Archive should be identified as follows:

Ten "Gang Busters!" episodes:

S01E01-The Karpis case (1952),
S01E02-The Phantom case (1952),
S01E03-The Unholy Three case (1952),
S01E04-The John Dillinger case (1952),
S01E05-The Boilat-Fiaschetti case (1952),
S01E06-The Mendoro case (1952),
S01E07-The Van Meter case (1952),
S01E08-The O'Dell-Griffin case (1952),
S01E13-The Graham Dennis case (1952),
S01E23-The Herbert Noble case (1952).

Hope this helps,

Subject: searching for a Gangbusters "Laget-Coudert Case"
I watched a couple of these and they bring back childhood memories of early "cop shows".

I am looking for a 1955 Gangbusters television episode, the "Laget-Coudert Case". Does anyone know of a source for this episode?

I am interested in the show because I inherited the papers of my late uncle, who was an undercover narcotics agent in the fifties. Among his papers are notes, newspaper articles, and photos pertaining to the Laget-Coudert case, for which he was the lead agent, and a copy of the screenplay for the Gangbusters episode. The screenplay, dated 9/10/55, was mailed to my uncle by the screenwriter and assistant to the producer, Ted Curtis.

I would appreciate any leads.
Thank you.

Subject: Gang Busters Is Good
What a treasure! As a child I listened to Gang Busters on radio on a weekly basis. This is the first time I have seen the transition to television from the radio series. It is hard to judge which media had the better presentation because of the passage of time. However, seeing Gang Busters from the television series is highly appreciated.

Subject: Radio is better.
Though the shows have good acting, I prefer the radio version.

Low budget forced the TV producers to use the same handful of cars in every episode. Thus Van Meter, partner of Dillinger in the mid-30s, is driving the same 1947 Cadillac Series 75 limousine that all the gangsters in all the episodes drive. And the cops attacking Dillinger in '34 are driving '52 Fords and Nashes.

Also, the cars after crashes or explosions are always different from the pre-crash cars. A Ford rolls down a hill and miraculously turns into a Packard Clipper!

These annoying things don't happen in my mind when I listen to the radio program.

Subject: Funny how they always refer to cops as "The police"
and nothing else in the opening and closing.. then at the end of each the cops all marching like storm troopers which is probably why they got such a bad rap and acting like storm troopers doesn't exactly help their cause.
I like this series, but have much contempt for certain members of the police, but not all by any means...mainly those who think their badge is a god given right to harass and abuse whoever they chose which is why i found the ending scene with them marching so offensive.. it's used as an intimidation tactic as much as it is for discipline.. i did my own share of marching lock step in the navy and not once since then have I ever found a practical use for it...not even walking across town alone at night. Some of the acting and dialog was weak and to be honest the violence wasn't really all that much by movie standards or by most TV standards, but it does try to get the point across.

Subject: GANG BUSTERS - 1955 MOVIE
So much fun to watch these classics.
SPECIAL REQUEST:
Can anyone find and share the Myron Healey GangBusters 1955 movie described below:

"In this spin-off from three episodes of the TV series "Gang Busters", hardened criminal JOHN OMAR PINSON (Myron Healey), Public Enemy No.4 escapes again and again from the Oregon State Prison only to be recaptured and returned to prison.

I have been trying to find this movie for years.
Thank you in advance,
